Standing before the nation with hope and determination, President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, relaid out a bold vision for Ghana’s transformation: the creation of a 24-hour economy.

This innovative agenda seeks to maximize productivity and create opportunities around the clock, leveraging the nation’s vibrant energy to foster growth and prosperity.

“Imagine a Ghana where our markets are bustling 24/7,”President Mahama declared, adding that this vision would be deeply anchored in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Speaking at his inauguration

at the Black Stars Square, which was graced by many Head of States and businessmen, Mr Mahama urged entrepreneurs and the business community to seize this moment, declaring, “Ghana is open for business again.”

The President emphasized that this economy would be inclusive, creating decent jobs and ensuring every Ghanaian—regardless of age, gender, or religion—can contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.

President Mahama acknowledged the interconnected challenges facing the nation, from security concerns to health threats caused by global climate changes.

He pledged to strengthen ties with neighboring countries to bolster regional security, describing them as “our brothers and sisters.”

He also promised to prioritize improving health facilities to address emerging global health challenges.

The President’s address was a tribute to the resilience of Ghanaians who voted for change.

“The outcome of the election brought joy to our people, reaffirming that government holds no power unless approved by the people,”he said.

Mahama pledged to uphold democracy not as a token but as a means of improving the daily lives of citizens.

President Mahama vowed to lead with transparency, accountability, and service. “I will take responsibility for every challenge and tell you the truth in all circumstances,”he assured the nation. His administration would prioritize improving the macroeconomic environment, constitutional reforms, and governance that serves the people.

Highlighting the historic role of his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Mahama celebrated her as a symbol of gender equality and empowerment. He pledged that inclusivity and the empowerment of women would be central to his government’s agenda.

“What can you do to build the Ghana we want?” the President asked, rallying Ghanaians to take an active role in the country’s transformation. He expressed confidence in the nation’s youth, emphasizing their voices and potential as crucial to building a better future.

As Ghana embarks on this new chapter, President Mahama’s vision for a 24-hour economy symbolizes a renewed commitment to progress, inclusivity, and prosperity.

“Together, we will build a society where every Ghanaian can dream and live to see those dreams fulfilled,” he added.
