Sports Minister, Ussif Mustapha, has advised national football players not to concentrate solely on bonuses when competing for their country, but rather to play with all their heart.
It is time for players in national team camps to be more patriotic and nationalistic in their mindset, he said
The Minister spoke at the 29th Ordinary Congress of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Great Hall on Monday
The sports minister, Hon. Yusif Mustapha, the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, and other football administrators graced the event.
Regarding the works of the Sports Ministry, Hon. Mustapha stated, “Six out of ten multi-purpose youth resource centers have been completed, as well as 136 astroturf pitches. Phase 1 of Essipong Stadium has been completed, and phase 2 will commence soon.”
Kurt Okraku, the President of the GFA, stated it will be obligatory for all premier league clubs to own U-17 teams who will participate in juvenile games adding that the FA will support each club with GH50,000.

In addition, he emphasized the promotion of Division One clubs and added that each team will receive 80,000 cedis as an inducement for the upcoming season.
He stated that the GFA will invest $100,000 in Colts football as well. “We will invest one hundred thousand dollars in Colts football.”
Alhaji Grusa also suggested that AshGold be reinstated to the league after being demoted to Division Two for infractions. In response to Alhaji Grusa’s concern, those in attendance were asked to vote ‘for or against’ the motion. After the vote, 67 people supported the suspension, while 17 opposed it.
Mr. Kurt Okraku concluded by thanking all members for their support and promising Ghanaians that, under his leadership, the GFA will take Ghana football to the next level.
