SSNIT Hotels: Organised Labour calls off strike

Organised Labour has called off its nationwide strike, which was in protest against the sale of 60% of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) shares in four hotels.

Dr Yaw Baah, Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, announced at an emergency meeting in Accra on Monday that the strike had been called off and that all workers should return to work tomorrow,  Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

He also stated that they had given SSNIT a one-month deadline to engage with them and resolve all outstanding pension management issues.

Dr. Baah threatened that if SSNIT does not meet this requirement, they will “advise themselves.”
