The 2024 NPP Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in electoral violence during the Ablekuma North re-run by-election.
Speaking at the NPP’s 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference, Dr. Bawumia vowed that those responsible wills face justice if the NPP returns to power in 2029.
Dr. Bawumia condemned the acts of violence and thuggery allegedly carried out by NDC-affiliated individuals, accusing the ruling party of eroding democratic values.
He called on President Mahama to ensure swift accountability and insisted that impunity must not be allowed to thrive.
He declared, “The elephant never forgets! No matter how long it takes, we will prosecute the perpetrators when we assume office in 2029, Insha Allah.”
This statement drew loud cheers from party faithful in attendance.
The former Vice President also warned the NDC against any further attempts to interfere with constitutional institutions, saying the NPP is watching closely and preparing to hold them accountable.
He specifically mentioned the party’s attempt to undermine the Judiciary and the Electoral Commission.
