Twerking nurse will go scot-free if… – GRNMA

Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Joseph Krampah says his  twerking colleague will go scot-free if investigations reveal that she is not a genuine nurse.
Over the weekend a video clip projecting a lady twerking in the nursing uniform went viral on social media.
The Ghana Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) who did not like the conduct of the said lady in the video condemned action.
A statement signed by the President for GRNMA, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, said the act is unacceptable and a disgrace to the nursing profession.
According to her, such practices do not reflect the ethics, etiquette and standards of the profession.
The leadership of the GRNMA has since directed all regional executives of the GRNMA as well as the general membership of the association to assist in the identification and subsequent investigation of the said nurse.
All nurses and midwives have been asked to desist from such unacceptable behaviours especially when in uniform in order to protect the dignity of the profession.
She said the association is still searching for the said nurse and still maintains that act is unacceptable and a disgrace to the nursing profession.
In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Public relations officer for the Ghana Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Joseph Krampah,  the association is still searching for the said nurse and still maintains that act is unacceptable and a disgrace to the nursing profession.
According to him, the association is yet to identify the said lady in the video and ascertain whether or not she is actually a nurse.
“ If its confirmed that she is a nurse she will be dealt with according to the association’s code for professional conduct. However, if she isn’t a nurse then we can only caution her.
The nursing uniform has not been registered and people who are not nurses are not barred from using it,” he added.
Meanwhile, human rights lawyer, Joyce Opoku Boateng, says although the nurse  in question  has the right to dance, the code of ethics of professional groups restricts such rights.
