A section of Ghanaians have expressed excitement over President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s intervention to absolve 50 percent of electricity bills for the next three months.
The intervention which was announced during his 6th address on Thursday comes after the coronavirus pandemic has caused a partial lockdown in principal regions in the country for almost two weeks, pending another one week extension.
The President’s fifth address, which saw the announcement of free water for Ghanaians for three months and the provision of food to vulnerable cities in affected areas of the lockdown.
While the majority were excited about the freebies, others also did not see the relevance with the thought that it will not benefit them in any way.
