The 21st Ghana International Book Fair (GIBF) comes off from Thursday, 8th August, 2024 to Sunday 11th August, 2024 at the Accra International Conference Center from 9am – 6pm daily.
The annual book fair brings together key stakeholders, vendors, readers, book lovers, and buyers to share a common platform with a focus on expanding and encouraging reading among the youth.
Theme for this year’s celebration is “Books & Culture in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The 21st Ghana International Book Fair was lunched on 4th April 2024at the British Council.
Speaking as the keynote speaker at the launch of the 21st Ghana International Book Fair at the launch in April 2024, the Director of Training for Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), Emily Fiagbedzi, championed the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in portraying Ghanaian culture, urging stakeholders in the literacy space to embrace this innovative approach.
Emily Fiagbedzi emphasized the need to utilise AI to our advantage.
“Let us use AI to amplify diverse voices and perspectives that define Ghana’s cultural heritage and let’s reaffirm our commitment to the timeless values like creativity, resilience and the enduring power of the written word. Let’s harness AI’s transformative potential with a spirit of generosity, ensuring that Ghana’s stories continue to resonate worldwide enriching the lives of readers everywhere.”
