Speaking on The Legend Sports Show on Atinka FM, the President of the Cycling Federation was very passionate on how the Federation could overcome most of its challenges.

Mohammed Sahnoon, recounted how he has effortlessly helped the Federation together with other dignitaries to set the Federation on a standard level that can compete at international events including the commonwealth games, Paralympics and others.

He outlined some major challenges the Federation was facing that needed immediate attention by the current government.

Again, He emphasized on the equipment needed by the Federation for competition internationally and domestically.

“The Federation got support from UCI by providing bicycles but the amount of money for clearance of this equipment is more than the value,” Mohammed Sahnoon added.

Mr. Sahnoon also related the lack of equipment to the ‘All African Games’ hosted by Ghana, saying that the cycling team was not provided the exact equipment needed for the competition.

This led to the complaints by the team and individual athletes.

He outlined the lack of sponsorship the Federation is facing as another challenge.

“If we had support in the previous years by both the NPP and NDC, we would have been at our peak as a federation,” he stressed .

Mr. Mohammed Sahnoon therefore calls for support from the government by making it a legal mandate from the sports ministry and national Sports Authority to help lesser-known sports to be efficient.
