9 arrested over false claims of genital disappearance

Nine individuals have been arrested by the Ghana Police for publishing false news about the alleged disappearance of their genital organs.

The populace was gripped by dread and terror as a result of these rumors, and attacks on defenseless civilians even occurred.

All of the allegations, however, turned out to be false following extensive research that included medical testing.

For fabricating missing genital reports, six people were detained in Kasoa, Central Region; two in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region; and one in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.

Five of the suspects have been taken to court, two have been granted bail, and three have been placed into police custody.

The remaining suspects are being held on police inquiry bail and will soon appear in court.

In a news release, the Ghana Police Service conveyed their grave concern regarding the increasing prevalence of people fabricating stories about their genitalia going missing.

Mob violence on innocent bystanders are frequently the outcome of these charges.

The Police Service strongly cautioned the public from participating in such illegal activity since it disturbs public order in addition to causing harm to innocent persons.

The press release emphasized how serious this problem is and asked people to stop disseminating misleading information that can encourage violence and hurt members of the community.
