The incumbent Member of Parliament for Builsa North Constituency, James Agalga, has been re-elected to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)  in  2024.

The former Interior Minister polled 547 votes in the just-ended NDC primaries. This means Mr. Agalga will lead the party for the fourth time in the 2024 general elections

His contender, Simon Awog-Badek polled 165 while Professor Godwin Awabil managed 9  votes. Four votes were rejected.

Mr. Agalga told the media that he was going to work closely with Mr. Simon Awog-Badek and Professor Godwin Awabil to ensure the NDC wins the Builsa North seat in 2024.

“The party is bigger than any of us and apart from that, we need a united front to win the 2024  election, both presidential and parliamentary to rescue the country,” he noted.

The defeated candidates promised to give their full support to Mr. Agalga to ensure the opposition party wins power and maintains the Builsa North seat.

In the presidential primaries, former president John Dramani Mahama polled 678 votes, Kojo Bonsu had 10 votes while Kwabena Duffuor who pulled out of the race Friday evening, had 23 votes.  16  votes were rejected.
