Atinka FM’s Radio programme, “Efisem” has been nominated for an award at the 27th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards ceremony.
The GJA Awards is an annual event meant to celebrate professional excellence in journalism and the 27th edition of awards is scheduled for Sunday, 29th October, 2023 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
The 27th edition of the awards is themed, ‘Leveraging media freedom to sustain the democratic and security architecture: The litmus test of Election 2024’.
“Efisem” is hosted by Cecelia Akosua Agyeiwaa, affectionately known as High Tension, who is an astute journalist with 17 years of experience in broadcast journalism. Akosua Agyeiwaa joined Atinka Media Village in 2015 as a senior news anchor. Since then, she has been with the AMV brand.
Akosua Agyeiwaa began her elementary education at the Barekese L A Primary School in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region. Later, she relocated to Offinso to finish her Junior High School education at State C in the Offinso South District, where she obtained her BECE Certificate.
Akosua Agyeiwaa continued her education at Offinso Dwamena Akenten Senior High School. Later, she completed a professional course at Knutsford University in Accra. Her first diploma was from the Excellent School of Broadcasting in Kumasi.
Due to her dedication and hard work, Akosua Agyeiwaa has won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2016 Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards -Best Akan Newscaster of the Year.
Akosua Agyeiwaa is also a businesswoman and the current chief executive officer of High Tension Boutique, which sells women’s apparel.
She also manages the High Tension Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist the elderly in society.
