Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, has berated the incumbent government, describing it as the most underperforming in the country’s history.
He believes that even the much-criticized erstwhile military rulers of the country have outperformed the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
Speaking to Nana Yaw Fianko on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, the outspoken politician condemned Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s derogatory remarks about Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He argued that even if any politician qualifies to be compared to the very Founder of Ghana, it can’t be President Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Boateng is of the belief that the NPP Running Mate’s comments were grossly unsavory and disrespectful. He proposed a swift unqualified apology could quench the fire of anger blazing in the hearts of some Ghanaians.
“Comparing the achievements of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to those of Akufo-Addo is very demeaning. Nkrumah built a lot of our secondary and tertiary institutions. Even the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology which he(Napo) attended was built by Nkrumah. He should be mindful when making comments about such a great personality,” he said.
