President of the Ghana Karate-do Federation, Nathaniel Johnson, has outlined the federation’s vision in the next few years and above.
Speaking on the Legend Sports Show with Justice Adusi-Poku, Mr. Nathaniel was positive about all activities in line with the federation.
Mr. Nathaniel Johnson said the World Karate-Do Federation is pushing harder in the next Olympics so that Karate-Do can be involved.
“The federation is working harder and praying to include ‘karate-do’ in the next Olympics, and I promise Ghana Karate-do will win a medal,” he stated.
He proposed that our national security schools should offer Karate-Do as a course to prepare security personnel in the nation.
Mr. Nathaniel Johnson pointed out that the federation had the opportunity to compete in the 2023 All African Games, which were held in Accra, and they performed better, despite encountering some challenges. He added, “The world Karate-do showered praise on our participation and organization of the All African Games.”
‘Being young Karate-do countries, we couldn’t compete with more experienced countries like Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and others, but overall, we gave our best effort.’ he explained.
Mr. Nathaniel went ahead to hint on some major challenges saying that the federation lack support when traveling outside Ghana for tournaments and programmes.
He has since urged the government and sports ministry to assist the federation when traveling for sports programs.
Mr. Nathaniel concluded that it will be their greatest joy to get sponsors on board to support the federation, reducing personal expenses.
