The Parliament of Ghana has constituted and approved a new Appointments Committee prior to the vetting of ministers and those who might have critical appointments.
The Committee is to ensure that those who are nominated by President John Dramani Mahama are well scrutinized and fit for positions they are named for.
Again, the committee is to recommend those who pass the vetting to the President to allow them assume their respective roles.
The Appointments Committee is being Chaired by the First Deputy Speaker, Bernard Ahiafor while Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah serves as the Vice Chairperson.
The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin is serving on the Committee as the Ranking Member with Patricia Appiagyei serving as Deputy Ranking Member.
