Renowned Ghanaian musician, Anthony Ackah, known on stage as Aka Blay, has expressed frustration over the poor financial support and unfair treatment of creatives in the country’s music industry.
Speaking in an interview with Odeefuor on Atinka FM’S Dot-to-Dot show, Aka Blay described the system as discouraging and exploitative.
“The industry’s unfairness towards us is pure wickedness and witchcraft,” – he lamented. “What’s earned in GAMU is more than what musicians make in a year.”
Akablay made these remarks while discussing his experiences in the music industry, highlighting the financial struggles faced by artists.
He pointed out that the declining interest in highlife music among Ghanaians is also contributing to the industry’s challenges.
