Freelance Journalist and Social activist, Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢500,000 with three sureties, following his arrest in connection with the illegal possession and display of firearms.

The Accra Circuit Court granted the bail earlier today after Mr. Adomako appeared before the bench on Wednesday, August 13.

Sir Obama Pokuase was arrested as part of a broader, intelligence-led crackdown by the Ghana Police Service in collaboration with other national security agencies.

Authorities say the operation is aimed at dismantling networks engaged in the illegal possession and exhibition of high-grade weapons.

Sir Obama Pokuase is alleged to have circulated videos and images on social media platforms, showing individuals brandishing sophisticated firearms without authorization. He is currently assisting police in their investigations.

In a related development, three other individuals — Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye — were also granted GH¢10,00 bail each. They face charges relating to threats of death and the publication of false information in connection with a recent helicopter crash incident that sparked national concern.
