Joshua Akamba Calls for Re-arrest of Ofori-Atta’s Lawyers

Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Joshua Hamidu Akamba, has called for the arrest of lawyers representing former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, accusing them of failing to account for their client’s whereabouts and return to Ghana.

Hon. Akamba made the call while speaking on Atinka TV’s Ghana Nie, where he addressed several governance and national issues and underscored the need for responsible leadership that prioritizes the welfare of Ghanaians.

According to him, in a serious country, lawyers Frank Davies and his legal team should be held accountable for not clearly stating when Ken Ofori-Atta will return to Ghana. He argued that the continued silence on the matter raises concerns about transparency and respect for the rule of law.

The former NDC organiser further alleged that the situation suggests the existence of a “cabal,” claiming that the former Finance Minister did not act alone during his tenure.

He stated that since Ofori-Atta’s arrest, his lawyer has effectively become his spokesperson, a development he described as troubling.

Hon. Akamba emphasized that political actors must place national interest above partisan considerations, especially at a time when citizens are facing severe economic and social challenges.
