EC boss, Deputies sworn-in

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, has sworn in the New EC boss and her deputies.

President Akufo Addo in consultation with the Council of State appointed the Executive Director of Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Jean Mensah as the new Chairperson of the Electoral Commission in July.

Her two new deputies are Dr. Eric Asare Bossman and Ms. Adwoa Asuama Abrefa.

The appointment came a month after former EC boss, Charlotte Osei, was sacked over breach of procurement laws allegations among others.

Speaking at the swearing ceremony at the Jubilee house in Accra, Akufo- Addo congratulated the appointees and tasked them to aim at delivering electoral victory and not electoral friction.

Newly appionted EC boss, Madam Jean Mensah, on the other hand stated that they will build on the good works of their predecessors.

Madam Jean Mensah assured Ghanaians that they will work diligently and hold themselves accountable to the laws of the land.
