Ghana Co-Operative Susu Collectors Association Embraces Emotional Intelligence

 

 

The Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI) is uniquely offering a National Learning & Development solution, for all the members of the Ghana Co-Operative SUSU Collectors Association at all levels, to Define, Measure and Build their Emotional Capital. This is a multi-faceted learning & development process which is grounded in Emotional Intelligence.

The Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI) has joined-forces with the Social Emotional Development Institute, a collective of world acclaimed experts, to provide Ghana Co-operative SUSU Collectors Association (GCSCA) with a powerful skills development and research environment; under the program banner Emotional Capital in Financial Inclusion.

The training among other objectives is to build member’s ability to manage difficult emotions with greater discretion to respond to stressful circumstances in their operations and take control and also create a solid optimistic approach and positive mood with a sense of self-confidence that in many ways inoculates against depression and anxiety.

In a post workshop interview the Master Trainer and the CEO of AICEI James Kwesi Addison reiterated that emotional intelligence is a valuable skill to have in any career, but even more so in the financial industry. According to the EQ Coach in a job that requires the ability to break down barriers with total strangers, overcome objections, build relationships and make connections, it's easy to see why the ability to control emotions and respond appropriately is important.

James further asserted that the market forces have reshaped the business world in such a way that emotional intelligence has become an unprecedented key factor for success in the workplace, promoting productivity and creativity.

In his post workshop interview to the media, the General Manager of the Ghana Co-Operative SUSU Collectors Association Mr. Obed Yaw Asamany pointed out that the emotional Intelligence training is being organized for GCSCA members and their agents to help them build emotional capital to remain competitive amidst the recent crises in the financial sector and further hinted of the GCSCA’s Board intentions to give the SUSU operations a sustained revolutionary push from this very year.

In a concluding remarks, the National Treasurer of the GCSCA Mr. Joseph Akakpo, a SUSU operator with well over 20 years in operation lauded the importance of the EQ training to client acquisition, funds mobilisation, and retention and appealed to all members to avail themselves for the training and further called on NGO’s and other Corporate entities to come and support the GCSCA so that all members numbering close to 700 could benefit from this all important training.

The training started last week in the Greater Accra, Western and the Central Region. It continues next week in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and the Northern Regions of the Country.
