World Teachers' Day: Ghanaians commend teachers

A section of the public have commended teachers for their tremendous works and contribution to national development.

The commendation came when Ghana joined the world to mark ‘World’s Teachers Day’ 2020 which was used to celebrate teachers for their tireless efforts, contributions, sacrifices and innovative works across the world in shaping lives of people.

Background
On 5th October annually, Teacher’s Day is celebrated worldwide to acknowledge the key roles of teachers in the socio-economic and general well-being of the people in every society.

The day is used to appreciate teachers and also for addressing the concerns of educational personnel policies, recruitment and their working conditions.

As part of efforts to join the rest of the world in celebrating this year’s 2020 teachers day and also appreciating them, Atinka news team drove through the principal streets of Accra to find out from the public how teachers have impacted their lives and some memories they have with teachers.

Most of them congratulated all teachers and wished them the very best of the year’s celebrations, as well as a brighter and better future for all.

“Teachers deserve to be celebrated and recognized for their long lasting impact on the lives of their students which goes all out to affect the positive development of every nation,” one parent said.
