Valentine: Have a reason for giving someone a gift- Counselor

A Life Coach and Relationship Expert, Counselor Kweku Adumatta says people should have a reason for giving a gift to someone on Valentine’s day.

According to him, the concept of valentine is expressing how someone means to you, saying that the day can be used to appreciate loved ones for what they have contributed in a particular relationship.

St Valentine’s Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration.

Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends.

This year’s Vals day will fall on Sunday.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Mr Adumata admitted that although gifts can come from both men or women on the said day, there should be a reason for gifting the person.

“I call valentine an expression of how you mean to me. There should be a reason to celebrate valentine. I would want to give my gift to one person for a particular reason. The gift should be used to appreciate someone who stood by you during a difficult time,” he said.

Giving tips on how lovers can celebrate the day, he said,”I call it a three square meal. Give words in the morning to your partner when you wake up. In the afternoon, send him or her a text, or a delivery of something to him or her at work. In the evening, sit face to face and eat. Even in the presence of the children. Due to covid we are not allowed to go out so do everything at home.”

Meanwhile, he said it is enough to send a song as a gift to your partner on vals day, adding that one can add material gifts after the song.Commenting on whether to discuss one’s source of income to their partner, he said it can be discussed depending on the person who is involved.
