A Human Rights Lawyer, Keziah Keneth Azumah says Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale should have asked his lawyers to write to Jesus Ahuofe, the Prophet who prophesied his death if he felt his (Shatta Wale)life was threatened.

Despite being a prophesy, the lawyer was of the view that the law should have been tested especially for the fact that Shatta Wale was not a member of his church and did not share in his beliefs.

Shatta Wale was arrested for spreading false information in connection with the alleged gun attack on him.

Reports on Monday, 18th October 2021, claimed that Shatta Wale had been shot by unknown gunmen as prophesied by a pastor popularly known as ‘Jesus Ahuofe’.

The police earlier arrested Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope and Eric Venator, alias Gangee, on Tuesday evening for allegedly spreading false information with the intention to cause fear and panic.

‘Jesus Ahuofe’ was also arrested prior to Wale’s arrest.

Speaking with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, Lawyer Keziah Keneth Azumah said,” Shatta Wale could have instructed his lawyers to write to the pastor drawing his attention to the fact that the said prophecy was causing fear and Panic and that he should retract. Even the Constitution says you cannot just come and say anything to cause fear and panic because I am known, no!.”

Meanwhile, the lawyer was also of the view that the Prophet should have contacted Shatta Wale privately to convey the prophecy.

When it was pointed to her that the Prophet could argue that it was just a prophesy and not a death threat, the lawyer said, “I feel we can test the law. There are grey areas in the law, if you want to test it you can test it. If someone has given you a prophesy and it is giving you trauma, you can go and test the law for the person to be held responsible.”

She expressed hope that the lawyers will use Shatta Wale’s case as an example for the public.
