A National Communications Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Akwasi Mensah says Ghanaians are demanding the impeachment of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia due to the hardship they are facing.
According to him, the people of Ghana are saying President Akufo Addo and Dr Bawumia have failed them, hence their displeasure.
His comments come after the President Akufo-Addo approved a number of far-reaching measures aimed at mitigating the depreciation of the cedi, ensuring expenditure discipline, and providing relief in the face of the global fuel prices hikes and inflation as well as ensuring that priority programs meant to grow the economy are protected.
A statement from the Information Ministry added that the measures will ensure expenditure discipline as well as provide relief in the face of global fuel price hike and inflation.

The Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori Atta is expected to provide the details of measures late this week after consultations with key social and economic stakeholders.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, Mr Peter Akwasi Mensah said earlier, a delegation engaged the public as neutral people, especially market women on the economy and they had a lot of questions for the NPP-Government.
He said a woman who expressed her opinion said the President when was in opposition noticed and pointed out all problems concerning Ghana and said they will solve it when they if they won power.
Mr Peter Akwasi Mensah said the woman recalled that the President said,”We have the men and that we are sitting on money but we are hungry.”
Unfortunately, after feeling disappointed, the woman questioned why government was now going to sit down to find solutions to Ghana’s problems.
He said the woman said President Akufo Addo had failed Ghanaians and so if he cannot rule the country, he should step down for someone to take over.
He said the promises and the hope the NPP’s gave Ghanaians are not manifesting.
“The only thing people are calling for is the impeachment of Akufo Addo and Bawumia, nothing more, nothing less. The people are saying President Akufo and Bawumia have failed Ghanaians,” he said.
