A heartbreaking tragedy has struck the community of Abepotia near Nkawkaw, following the discovery of a missing toddler’s lifeless body in a nearby stream.
The deceased child, identified as one-year-one-month-old Michell Tweneboah Kodua, affectionately called Mimi, had been missing since last Friday.
The body was found days later under suspicious circumstances, prompting family members to suspect foul play. Their suspicions are particularly directed at the child’s father, known in the area as “Bodyee.”
According to Dickson Aboagye, a former Assembly Member and uncle of the late child, the father has a troubling history involving previous attempts to kidnap other children. This past behavior has deepened the family’s fears that he may have played a role in Mimi’s death.
The child’s grandmother, Madam Ama Mintaa, who was taking care of Mimi at the time of the disappearance, also suspects the father’s involvement.
She said the toddler went missing around 9 p.m. on Friday while under her care.
As investigations continue, the community is demanding swift action from the police to uncover the truth behind the child’s mysterious death and to ensure justice is served.
Police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but the case remains under investigation.
