Former Priestess turned Evangelist, Madam Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa has finally been granted a bail of
GH¢50,000 with three sureties by an Accra Circuit Court.

This was after she was denied bail twice since her arrest.

According to reports, despite the bail, Agradaa will remain in custody.

Agradaa was in court to face seven counts of defrauding by false pretense and charlatanic advertisement on TV and in a newspaper to entice her victims. This followed a viral video of her church members cursing her for tricking them to give offering in exchange of huge of huge amounts, an allegation she denies.

Reynold Twumasi Ankrah, Agradaa’s lawyer, argued against the state Prosecutor’s request, claiming that Agradaa has many children and that her incarceration will have an impact on them (children).

He also stated that the accused is a changed soul, a good Christian who will not tamper with evidence.

He even mentioned how Agradaa drove herself to the police station before she was arrested.

Agradaa’s lawyer believes the police lack the necessary evidence and that the case will be dismissed.

Lawyer Twumasi Ankrah told the court that the police are now looking for evidence and have written to Today TV for help with the video.

The State Prosecutor told the court that the request was part of their evidence-gathering strategy, but the station told them that they could only release the video with the permission of their CEO, Agradaa.

According to the Prosecutor, this is a clear justification for their request for Agradaa’s remand in order to prevent evidence tampering.

As a result, the court remanded Agradaa into custody to appear in court today, Monday, October 17, 2022.

Under CID protection, Agradaa left the court singing “Hallelujah.”
