Member of Parliament for the Ahanta West Constituency in the Western Region, Ebenezer Kojo Kum has cut sod for work to commence on the construction of a CHPS compound at Funko.
The facility when successfully completed will serve two sister communities, New Amanful and Adjoa.
Speaking at a short ceremony to perform the sod cutting, Mr. Kum said, the people of Funko deserve a modern day CHPS compound to help them have easy access to health care delivery.
According to him, when the project is completed, it will end the case where persons within that enclave travel to Apowa and Takoradi to seek healthcare.
He indicated that, the government of Nana Akuffo- Addo sees the importance of providing Ghanaians quality access to healthcare delivery and called on the community to join forces so that the project is completed in time.
The MP was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, Madam Henrietta Mary Eyison, Mr Anthony Nketsiah Kwofie( Ahanta West NPP constituency chairman), Mr Joseph Baidoo( 2nd vice chairman), Augustina Nketsiah( Ahanta West NPP constituency women organiser).
Others include, Madam Patience Amponsah( deputy women organiser), Mr Barnabas Annan ( MP’s personal PRO), Mr Rudolf Cobbinah( MP’s personal aide), Nananom and elders of the community.
Hon. Ntsiful, the Assembly member for Funko electoral area who doubles as presiding member for the Municipal Assembly, on behalf of the community, commended the NPP government and the Hon. Member of Parliament for the kind gesture.
He said, th project will go a long way in solving a challenge they have been faced with for so long.
Commenting on the 2020 General Elections, Mr. Ntsiful seized the opportunity to urge the people of Funko and Ahanta West to vote massively to retain President Nana Addo and the Incumbent MP.
