Akosua High Tension Hails Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

The Founder and Executive Director of the High Tension Foundation, Madam Cecilia Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Akosua High Tension, has joined Ghanaians in celebrating a historic milestone as Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang assumes office as the first female Vice President of Ghana.

In a heartfelt message, Madam Agyeiwaa congratulated Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who was sworn in at the Black Star Square, describing her achievement as a victory for women and a bold step towards gender equality in Ghana.

“This is a momentous occasion for every Ghanaian, especially women and girls who now see that the glass ceiling can be broken,” – she remarked.

Madam Agyeiwaa urged the new Vice President to make gender, children, and social protection a top priority in her tenure.

She emphasized the importance of empowering vulnerable groups and ensuring that no Ghanaian is left behind in the quest for national development.

“The welfare of women, children, and the underprivileged must always be at the heart of governance. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, as a woman of great intellect and compassion, has the unique opportunity to lead the charge in these critical areas,” – she stated.

She also appealed for increased budgetary allocations to the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection and its agencies, stressing the need for adequate resources to drive impactful policies and programmes.

Madam Akosua High Tension concluded by lauding Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as a symbol of hope and a trailblazer whose leadership will inspire generations of women.

“Ghana has made history, and we believe that with Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s leadership, we will rewrite the narrative for gender equality and social justice,” – she added.

As Ghana embraces this new chapter, all eyes are on Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to lead with the courage and commitment that has characterized her illustrious career. Her role as Vice President signifies progress, not just for Ghana, but for the entire African continent.
