Former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has indicated that he vehemently disagrees with claims that Dr.Kwame Nkrumah is the best president Ghana has ever had.
The private legal practitioner told Nana Yaw Fianko on Atinka FM’s flagship AM Drive show that most Ghanaians seem to overhype the achievements of Nkrumah, thereby undermining those of the NPP government. When asked by the host to mention at least five projects the Akufo-Addo administration has been able to do, he pointed to Free SHS adding that the policy towers above all Nkrumah’s projects.
“Most Ghanaians are ungrateful. They always praise Nkrumah as if Busia, Dankwa, Acheampong and all other former leaders didn’t do anything for the country. After all, Nkrumah inherited a lot of money from the colonial government,” he opined.
