A Doctor at the Entrance University Hospital, Dr George Kwame Amoako, has urged young men to stop using Aphrodisiacs before having an affair with women.
He noticed that Aphrodisiacs, excessive intake of alcohol and smoking are major causes of prostate disease.
He also hinted that prostate diseases is on the rise amongst Ghanaian men, expressing worry over the trend.
Dr Amoako said this at a health screening programme organised by the Entrance University Hospital in collaboration with the Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited on Thursday for only men, as part of the Father’s Day celebrations.
The Entrance University Hospital organised a special free health screening for only men as part of the Father’s Day celebrations.
The exercise focused on prostate, fasting blood sugar, HB (blood level), the usual vitals, BMI, and others. The three-day health screening which started on, Thursday, June 17th will end on Saturday, June 19th 2021.
The exercise which took place at the Entrance University Hospital, Kokomlemle Asantewa, Junction will continue on Friday at the same place at 8 a.m. t 3 p.m.
But on Saturday, it will be held at the head office of the Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Kotobabi. This also forms part of activities to mark the Entrance Month which was launched on June 8th, 2021 to promote products by the Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre.
Speaking with Atinka News, Dr George Kwame Amoako noticed that a 42 year-old-man reacted to the prostate test while a 60-year-old also reacted to it.
Meanwhile, he said it was unusual for a man at 42 to react to that, urging all men to regularly go for check ups in order to know their status early for treatment.
