A man believed to be in his mid 30s is on the run after allegedly butchering his wife and two months old baby boy at Ashaiman Washington over suspicion of infidelity.
The incident which occurred on Monday dawn has left the people in the community in tears.
According to a citizen reporter, Eric Marfo who gave an account of the incident on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, the suspect, Jacob Apandago lived with his wife, three female children and the last born who was the only male child.
According to reports, the victim sells porridge in the neighborhood.
According to sources, Jacob suspected that his wife was in a secret relationship with one of her customers, whom he wrote a note to warn to stay away from her.
According to sources, he even harbored suspicions that the yet-to-be-named newborn was not his biological son but rather belonged to the man in question.
Jacob’s suspicion persisted until he decided to end it by giving the woman a substance to drink in order to make her fall deeply asleep.
Following that, he allegedly locked the three other female children in the main room and opened the television to the loudest point to prevent others from hearing any screams from the woman.
After this, he used a kitchen knife to smite the wife from the back of her neck, then repeated the same in front of her neck.
Following that, he also cut the baby’s neck with the same knife.
Jacon then bolted, leaving the children in the locked room, as well as his dead wife and baby, with a note explaining the events that led to his action.
It is also alleged that the man who is accused of cheating with Jacob’s wife has also bolted for unknown reasons.
