The Atinka Media Training Center held a fourth graduation ceremony on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Sika Hall inside the Atinka Media Village.
Enhancing Your Career Through Professionalism, Discipline, and Time was the theme for the ceremony. 45 students graduated
The students had eight months of training, both in theory and practical. After spending four months in the classroom, Atinka Media Village sent the students to various departments for their practical attachments.
Some of the courses they studied were in news reading, news writing, TV and radio presentations, sports presentations, camera operation, video editing, radio engineering, and graphic design, among others.
Students received special awards for their hard work.
Speaking at the event, Madam Linda Asante Agyei, the Vice President of GJA, urged the graduates to practice journalism fearlessly, adding that as long as they adhere to the profession’s ethics, they will always be safe from those who attack practitioners.
She added, “As a journalist or a media person, learning how to say no is a key to professionalism.”
Dr. Bernard Tutu-Boahene, a Political Marketing Lecturer at the University of Education Winneba and the guest of honor, emphasized to the students the importance of managing their time effectively, as it directly impacts their productivity. He also mentioned that teamwork enhances professionalism, emphasizing the importance of learning how to collaborate with others as an individual.
The Managing Director at Atinka Media Village, Nana Akomea Marfo, stated that despite the challenges, the training has yielded greater outcomes. According to him, the graduates received training on self-sufficiency and were encouraged to use their smartphones to create their own content for social media.
Graduates expressed their gratitude and experiences. They also urge everyone to join the Atinka Media Training Center.
