Atinka News raises GH₵1,800 for boy’s medication; still needs $8,310 for surgery

In less than 24 hours, Atinka Media Village (AMV) raised an amount of GH₵1,800 through public donations to cover the cost of medication for a six-year-old boy who needed urgent attention for his eye condition.
Doctors had warned that the poor boy would go blind if nothing was done to stabilize his eye condition before “proper surgery” by close of Friday, January, 31st 2020.
Although the GH₵1,800 will cater for his medication for three months, the boy still needs an amount of 8,310 dollars for a “Buston k. Pro surgery” for both eyes at Dr. Agarwal’s Hospital in India.
According to  doctors’ report, if the surgery  delays, the boy will experience “a gradual diminishing of his vision.”
On Wednesday, the family of Ransford Yohannes Agbenu called on Atinka Media Village (AMV) to help them raise an amount of GH₵1,500 to purchase medication for the boy before Friday, January, 31st 2020.
After calling on AMV, the appeal was aired on Atinka TV, Atinka 104.7 FM and published on Atinkaonline.com and the public responded to the call by donating to support the boy.
AMV has subsequently paid for the urgent medication which will last for three months, but the boy still needs 8310 US Dollars to undergo surgery to regain his sight completely.
Meanwhile, the family is still appealing for support from the public for the boy to undergo eye surgery in India.
Donations can be sent to Atinka TV’s News Editor, Regina Asamoah on momo number: 0594594662/ 0246907762.
