Axim: Man, 38, jailed for attempting to sell son for GHS500k

A 38-year old man, Kwabena Ebo, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for attempting to use his son for money rituals at Axim in the Western Region.

The Takoradi Circuit Court B sentenced Kwabena Ebo to 10-year imprisonment for attempting to use his son for money rituals.

Kwabena Ebo, a 38-year-old resident of Ayisakro, near Axim in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region was sentenced after pleading guilty to the charge of trading a person.

Narrating the case in court, the prosecutor, Inspector Robert Yawson, revealed that the accused offered to sell his biological son for GHS500,000.

He added that the accused was selling his son to a fetish priest, Mr Francis Odasini alias Nana Tano Kwaw.

According to the prosecutor, Kwabena Ebo approached the fetish priest and asked him to perform money rituals using his son, an offer the fetish priest reportedly declined.

The accused, Kwabena Ebo, who was bent on getting rich overnight, returned on the same day to offer his son to the fetish priest for GHS500,000.  

Sensing desperation, the fetish priest feigned interest and promised to get the accused a buyer after which he lodged a complaint with the Axim Police Command.

 38-year old man, Kwabena Ebo was arrested by undercover policemen when he met the fetish priest to take “fake” payment from him.
