Ayawaso Central: Henry Quartey commends EC over peaceful special voting exercise

The New Patriotic Party’s Presidential (NPP) candidate for the Ayawaso Central constituency, Henry Quartey, has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for ensuring a successful start of the special voting exercise in the area.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Atinka FM’s Senior Reporter, Joyce Hilda Afia Aboagyewaa, the MP who visited his constituency polling center, the ATTC poling center A&B to observe how the special voting is being conducted, said he was impressed about how the  election was being conducted peacefully with voters observing the COVID-19 safety protocols.

According to the legislator, he has added his voice to the peace campaign by sensitising  his party followers and persons in his constituency over the past few weeks to be circumspect about their utterances to ensure a peaceful election.

He was optimistic that victory will be his at the end of the process because he has brought a lot of development to Ayawaso Central

He said he has helped over four hundred youths in his constituency to get jobs especially in the security service.

Joyce Hilda Afia Aboagyewaa who is stationed in the Ayawaso Central constituency reported that at the ATTC Centre A&B, in Kokomlemle, 1063 registered voters were expected to cast their vote.

She added that as about 9:40am, only 281 people had cast their vote at the ATTC Centre A&B.
