A 35-year-old man, Enoch Mensah, is on the run after pouring acid on her baby mama, Philomena Owusu, 29, and their two-year-old daughter at Pomadze in the Central Region.
According to the victim’s mother, Madam Janet Agyire, the suspect, Enoch Mensah, came to call the victim, Philomena Owusu, at Winneba to accompany him to pay the rest of a new apartment he had acquired for her in Pomadze. At the apartment, a misunderstanding ensued between the two when the victim inquired about Enoch’s willingness to pay the amount after realizing that the money he had was insufficient.
Enoch Mensah then summoned the victim for a private chat inside the flat, but ended up pouring acid on both the mother and kid.
Meanwhile, the two-year-old baby is said to have passed away, while the mother has been transferred from the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital to Korle Bu in the Greater Accra Region.
The duo was said to have a series of unsettled marital issues with the major one being the denial of the pregnancy by Enoch Mensah when Philomena got pregnant.
As a result, Janet Agyire took responsibility for the pregnancy and the baby until her demise.
The police are investigating the matter.
