Baby thief 'accomplice' granted bail; main suspect to undergo psychiatric test

A Sekondi Gender Court presided over by Justice Abena Agyin Doku on Friday ordered the woman who allegedly stole a baby in the Western Region, Mawusi Rose Fiaku, to undergo a psychiatric test.

This was after the suspect told the court she has not had a baby before, contrary to what she had told the court in a previous proceeding.

The court at the last sitting ordered the suspect to have a pregnancy test. The test proved negative.

According to reports on citinewsroom.com, Mawusi Rose Fiaku was directed to undergo the psychiatric test following an admission by her mother that her daughter had been behaving abnormally even before the baby stealing issue.

Mawusi’s boyfriend, Lawson Lartey who was is the second accused was not asked any question by the court but was however given bail in the sum of GH₡10,000 with two sureties to reappear in court on 26th April together with her girlfriend.
