Bawumia promises One District, One Mechanization Center to support farmers

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to construct a mechanization center in every district to support farmers if elected as President.

According to him, this is to confirm his promise of prioritizing Agriculture as one of the key developmental sector under his leadership.

Addressing thousands of youths at his usual engagements dubbed “Bawumia Youth Connect at Juapong in the North Tongu Constituency, Dr. Bawumia vowed to set up District Agricultural Mechanisation Centres in farming districts, providing affordable equipment to enhance production.

He explained that the district mechanisation centres would help give out tractors and other farming equipment to farmers to help improve their yield at the local level.

“We are going to help the farmers. I want to focus on Agriculture, our farmers need help, they need irrigation, they need equipment, they need planters, they need combined harvesters”

With this I’m going to set up a district mechanization center in every district in Ghana so our farmers will have equipment to farm” Dr Bawumia asserted
According to him, it’s time the country prioritizes Agriculture as one of the major tools for development.
