38-year-old Collins Sarfo, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Bekwai Circuit Court for attempted sodomy on a 16-year old boy.
The assembly member for Fomena Electoral Area is the complainant in the case.
Narrating the incident in court, Prosecutor Detective Sergeant Isaac Ofori Mensah noted that the convict approached the victim to solicit anal sex with him while the victim was assisting the attendant at the public lavatory facility in the Fomena two weeks ago.
He added that the convict’s appeal was turned down by the victim.
Detective Sergeant Isaac Ofori Mensah added that Collins Sarfo pestered the victim and promised to give him money should he give in to his demands, an act that convinced the victim to tell his elder brother about the whole issue.
According to Detective Sergeant Isaac Ofori Mensah, 38-year-old Collins Sarfo, who did not give up lured the victim on Sunday October 10, 2021, removed his penis and asked the victim to suck.
The victim who became scared at this point tried to run but was chased by the convict who promised to give him {the victim} GHS30 ahould he agree to hisn demand.
The sodomy victim upon sensing danger begged the convict to release him and that he would come back to him in the evening.
The victim quickly informed his elder brother who inturn informed the assembly member of the area.
The assembly involved some members of the unit committee and the neighbourhood watchdog committee who laid an ambush.

The convict appeared at the public lavatory facility 9pm on the same day. The victim knowing the plan pretended have agreed to suck the convicts penis as demanded early on.
The 16-year-old victim led the convict to chamber of the lavatory facility where the neighbourhood watchdog committee had already laid ambush.
38-year-old Collins Sarfo was arrested after he went half-naked, removed his penis and attempted to sodomize the victim.
The neighbourhood watchdog then handed him over to the Police.
After investigations, the court found Collins Sarfo guilty.
Collins Sarfo was charged on October 20, 2021, after investigation, with the attempt to commit a criminal offence to wit unnatural carnal knowledge contrary to sections 18 and 104 (1)(a) of the Criminal offences Act.
The Bekwai Circuit Court sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
