Bomb scare at KIA: Armed Forces investigating incident

The management of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) says the base ammunition depot of the Ghana Armed Forces is investigating an “unattended bag”allegedly containing ammunition at the Kotoka International Airport.

On Tuesday December 28th 2021 an unattended bag was sighted at the arrival hall of terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport.

Passengers, who had arrived from various destinations took to their heels as they claimed the bag contained ammunition.

in a statement, management of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) say the bag have been taken away by the base ammunition depot of the Ghana Armed Forces for further investigations.

According to the statement, the findings of the investigations will be made public.

“Management of GACL wishes to apologize for the disruption In the arrival facilitation process during the period and assuresthe travelling public of its commitment to ensure their safety and security at our airports,” the statement from GACL said
