The Accra High Court, presided over by Justice Audrey Kocuvi-Tay, has granted bail totalling GHS150 million to Hannan Abdul-Wahab, former Chief Executive of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni.
The couple, who pleaded not guilty to 24 counts including stealing, defrauding by false pretences, money laundering, and using public office for profit, are accused of offences involving over GHS115 million.
Hannan was granted bail of GHS100 million with six sureties—four to be justified with landed property. He is also to be placed on a stop list and report to investigators every Wednesday.
His wife, Faiza, was granted GHS50 million bail with four sureties—three to be justified—and must also surrender her passports and report weekly.
The prosecution, led by Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, did not oppose bail but urged the Court to consider the gravity of the offences. Defence lawyer Joseph Dindiok Kpemka argued that the couple had cooperated fully with investigators and should not be denied bail.
The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2025, for a Case Management Conference.
