While fans still wait for Cardi B’s second studio album, they’ll get a chance to see her in a whole new light: through the world of animation.
Nickelodeon announced on Thursday that the 29-year-old rapper will guest star in the animated series Baby Shark, along with her 30-year-old husband Offset and their 3-year-old daughter Kulture.
The rapper will be voicing ‘Sharki B,’ while Offset will voice ‘Offshark’ and Kulture will voice Kulture Shark on the new episode The Seaweed Sway, airing Friday, April 15 at 12 PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon also released a brief video showcasing Cardi, Offset and Kulture’s animated characters.
‘I got here by doing things my own Sharki B way,’ she says, while the video offers a brief glimpse of The Seaweed Sway song.
The video ends with Sharki B telling Baby Shark and William, ‘You gotta come on tour sometime, okurrr?’
The special episode will follow Baby Shark (voiced by Kimiko Glenn) and William (voiced by Luke Youngblood), who meet Sharki B, ‘and try to learn the dance craze she created.’
Sharki arrives in Carnivore Cove to perform her ‘splash hit dance craze,’ known as The Seaweed Sway, and asks Baby Shark and William to show her around town.
She invites them both to perform The Seaweed Sway with her that night, but William can’t seem to get the final move down right.
‘Luckily, thanks to the help of his friends and his musical icon Sharki, William learns that the true secret to great dancing is doing it his own unique way,’ reads the description.
Shark B is described as, ‘the biggest star in the seven seas–flashy, awe-inspiring, and ruthlessly fun–but always 100% herself and fin-spires other fishies to do the same.’
Offset will be voicing Offshark, described as, ‘a cool fish with a great vibe and a huge Sharki fan,’ while Kulture voices Kulture Shark, ‘Offshark’s three-year-old daughter who is excited to attend Sharki’s big concert with her dad.’
The Seaweed Sway song will be featured on Nick Jr.’s compilation album, Sing, Dance & Sway the Nick Jr. Way.
The album will be available on all digital streaming platforms, including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora and more, on April 8.
Cardi B herself took to Instagram to share a tweet from Billboard about the series, adding, ‘Make sure you guys and your babies check out Me & my family episode on BABYSHARK series on Nicklelodeon !!!!’
She also took to her Instagram story to share the same tweet, adding, ‘Can’t wait!!! It’s sooo cute.’
