With the theme of this year’s MedSafetyWeek celebration dubbed ‘Every Report Counts’, Patients as well as healthcare professionals were encouraged to adopt the habit of reporting adverse reactions from medicines, as it has the possibility of curbing a repetition in the future.

The campaign was conducted in collaboration with representatives of the Ghana Health Service, Pharmacy Council, Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association, Aged Clinic, Anaafo market women and fishermen and some media stations representatives.

A team of officers led by Mr. Odai Tettey, the Regional Head, carried out a public education activity within the environs of Cape Coast, welcome especially Ntsin market to educate the public and create awareness on the need to report any adverse drug reaction and on the procedures involved in reporting with or without the Medsafety App.

He also encouraged the public to make reports, complaints or suggestions through any of the Authority’s official social media platform, website or hotlines.

Flyers were distributed to the public and placards were displayed to throw more emphasis and insight on med safety.
