Cheating Not a Ground for Divorce – Osofomaame Gladys

Divorce

Renowned preacher of the Church of Pentecost, Ablekuma Olebu, Osofomaame Gladys, has stated that cheating should not be a reason for divorce, emphasizing that marriage is meant to be a lifelong commitment despite its challenges.

Speaking on “Kisses and Roses” on Atinka TV, hosted by Afia Adubea, she explained that while many couples struggle with issues of trust and faithfulness, cheating alone should not end a marriage. Instead, she encouraged couples to work through their problems, especially if the man is fulfilling his responsibilities at home.

“Marriage is much sweeter than dating, and I am enjoying mine so much,”- she said.

“From what I have observed, it is very difficult to remarry after a divorce, so we should do everything possible to make our marriages work.”

Osofomaame Gladys also highlighted the vast difference between dating in Africa and other parts of the world, arguing that in Africa, men often demand sex first, while in Europe, the approach is different.

She criticized women who leave their husbands due to the size of their manhood, stating that such women are not ready for marriage.

“Marriage is about commitment, not just physical satisfaction,” she added.

On the other hand, Prophet Isaiah Tetteh, Founder of the Prayer Life Chapel in Ashaley Botwe, took a different stance. He argued that divorce is sometimes necessary, especially when a marriage is not ordained by God.

According to him, many people marry simply because a pastor approves of the union, but that does not necessarily mean God has blessed it.

“Some people get married, relocate, and marry again elsewhere through the right church process. But that does not mean the marriage is God-ordained,” he explained. “When a person finds out they are in such a situation and decide to break out, it is not wrong.”

He likened some marriages to “illegal connections” and urged couples to pray for divine intervention. “Many marriages are like ECG illegal connections—you must pray for God to disconnect them if necessary,” – he remarked.

Prophet Tetteh further stressed that when a person’s life or dignity is at risk, divorce is the best option. However, he urged men to respect their wives and take care of their children, saying, “A man who honors his wife and provides for his home will be blessed forever.”

The discussion sparked mixed reactions from viewers, with some agreeing with Osofomaame Gladys on the need to endure marriage challenges, while others sided with Prophet Tetteh’s call for prioritizing personal safety and divine guidance in marital decisions.
