Databank CEO and football pundit, Kojo Adda- Mensah, has described the tactics and formation of the Black Star Coach Chris Hughton as problematic.
Speaking exclusively in an interview with Justice Adusi-Poku, host of “The Legend Sports Show” on Atinka FM, Mr. Addae Mensah stated that while he first thought Hughton’s strategies were defensive, Hughton’s approach evolved once he was given the opportunity to coach the Black Stars.
‘Seven matches, three wins, two defeats, two draws, seven goals scored and nine goals conceded. this stats clearly do not give hope for the Black Stars and it does not excite anyone,’ he emphasized.
He stated that Hughton’s formation 4-3-2-1 does not fit in the black stars team and he needs to change to the old formation. ‘ “Black Stars traditional formation is 4-4-2,” he added.
Touchinh on the double defeats against the United State of America and Mexico Mr. Addae said, “our level of conceding goals is abysmal and the team looks disjointed especially our defense”
He mentioned that most Ghanaians are requesting for Hughton’s dismissal but he does not support the idea because “It is too late to sack a coach who has few months to prepare for AFCON 2023’’.
He concluded that if Hughton does not change his tactics then Ghanaians should forget about qualifying from the AFCON group stage.
