CLOGSAG announces nationwide strike effective July 3

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike effective July, 3, 2024.

The association is also demanding the implementation of its new salary structure which has delayed for over two years.

After 1.5 years of reaching a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the group laments that the government has not yet put the new compensation structure that was approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission into effect.

Speaking to the media, CLOGSAG Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo advised all of its members to follow the direction until their demands are met by the government.

“We hereby declare a nationwide strike with effect from Wednesday 3rd July 2024, all staff of the Civil Service and Local Government Service should stay away from work until further notice.”

 “Indicating our intentions to proceed on a nationwide strike if the new salary structure for the staff of the civil service and local government service is not implemented, we hereby declare a nationwide strike with effect from Wednesday, July 3, 2024

“All staff of the civil service and local government service are to stay away from work until further notice. Similarly, all CLOGSAG secretarial offices must be closed. Kindly take note and comply accordingly.”

“Similarly, all CLOGSAG Secretariat and offices are closed, kindly take note and comply…with the Labour Commission, tomorrow morning when we wake up, we will decide,” Isaac Bampoe Addo noted.
