Covid-19: 13.1 million vaccine doses have been administered – Akufo-Addo

About 13.1 million vaccine doses have been administered, The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced.

The vaccination rollout forms part of efforts to get rid off the coronavirus from the country.

Speaking to the general public in his 28th Covid-19 update on Sunday March 27, Akufo-Addo mentioned that sone 29million doses of vaccines have arrived in the country to enable the target of vaccinating 20million people possible.

“We have 29million vaccines doses and 13.1million doses have been administered as at 26th March 2022. I urge you to take it,” he added

The President also announced that henceforth, fully vaccinated travellers would not need PCR and Antigen Tests.

He maintained that Fully vaccinated travellers would not need PCR and Antigen Tests from the country of embarkation to allow them entry into the country through the KIA.

According to the President, citizens and foreign residents in Ghana not fully vaccinated would need to do a prior arrival 48-hour PCR Test, Antigen test on arrival and will be offered vaccination at the KIA.

“Fully vaccinated travellers would not need PCR and Antigen Tests from the country of embarkation to allow them entry into the country through the KIA.

“Citizens and foreign residents in Ghana not fully vaccinated would need to do a prior arrival 48-hour PCR Test, Antigen test on arrival and will be offered vaccination at the KIA.”

“Fully vaccinated travellers would be allowed entry through the land and sea borders without any PCR and Antigen tests from the country of embarkation.

“Citizens and foreign residents in Ghana who are not fully vaccinated would have to do a prior arrival 48-hour PCR Test and will be offered vaccination at the point of entry,” Akufo-Addo added.
