Covid-19: Akufo-Addo goes for lockdown; Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Obuasi affected

 
Information reaching Atinkaonline.com indicates that President Akufo-Addo has opted for a partial lockdown to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a police document titled “Deployment strategy for lockdown of Accra, Tema Kumasi and Obuasi” cited by Atinkaonline.com, the affected areas are Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Obuasi.
The document stated that it is anticipated that a partial to full lockdown of some parts of the country will be executed in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
In line with the anticipated lockdown, the Ghana Police Service (GPS), The Ghana Armed Forces, The Ghana Immigration service (GIS), and the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) are expected to undertake a joint internal security to enforce the lockdown.
It is likely to start this weekend according to sources.
