COVID-19: Ghana's active cases now 554

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has has disclosed that Ghana’s Covid 19 active cases have dropped from the 1000’s to 554.

According to him, the country has conducted 470,730 tests so far.

Out of the tests, he said 45, 258 have recovered and discharged with 279 deaths.

He said there were parts of the country without active cases, pointing Accra, Ashanti Region, Central Region as the ones that have active cases.

He said currently, 20 people are in severe and in critical conditions.

He noted that the number of deaths continue to reduce, adding that there are no patients under care at isolation centres.

President Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to continue to observe the safety protocols in order to stop the spread of the virus completely.

He ordered the mandatory wearing of face masks for another three months, adding that the security agencies will enforce the wearing of the masks.

He also said 16 out of the 23 airlines that were prevented from coming to the country have commenced operations in the country.

He said so far 10,061passengers have arrived in Ghana and out of that, 26 have tested positive for the virus.

He therefore stressed the need to observe the safety protocols till the virus disappears completely.
