The Eastern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) of Trades Union Congress (TUC), Johnson Kyere has urged commercial drivers, bus conductors as well as passengers to adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols.
The GPRTU chairman further threatened to punish drivers who violate the precautionary protocols put in place by the government.
Addressing a news Conference in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Chairman said drivers who refuse to enforce the adherence of the safety protocols will be severely punished.
According to him, the Union deems it necessary to renew the announcement from President Akufo-Addo’s call on the enforcement of the Covid-19 safety protocols due to the spike of the second wave.
He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to adhere the protocols to prevent a second lockdown.
