COVID-19: Nsiah Asare clarifies "3 million people will be infected"

The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare has debunked publications that he said about 15,000 Ghanaians may die before out of coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to him, per the hypothesis or model of the World Health Organisation (WHO), about 3 million Ghanaians are expected to be infected with COVID-19 while 15,000 may die out of the number if precautionary measures are not taken.
Explaining the statement, he said,”it is not true that 3 million people in Ghana will be infected with the virus and 15, 000 will die.”
Rather, he said that could happen if Ghana was not taking the drastic measures it is taking.
Also, per the government’s pro-activeness in testing over 80,000 people and knowing the data retrieved so far out of the tests, it is not possible that Ghana will get to that stage.
He also noted that in Ghana, out of the tests conducted, 0.7 percent have tested positive while over 95 percent is negative, adding that Ghana’s hypothesis or model  does not correspond to that of the WHO and therefore it is not true that 15,000 people will die.
“Ghana has a model for this covid-19 when we do all the measures there will be no more problem,” he said.
